Brownfields Site Project Descriptions
Former Amoco Refinery, WY
EnviroGroup is assisting Wyoming DEQ in a collaborative process with BP Amoco to cleanup
a former oil refinery in Casper and facilitate development of commercial office parks,
a golf course, kayak run, and a wildlife sanctuary. Cleanup schedules have been adjusted
to optimize redevelopment of the property and institutional controls have been established
to ensure protective environments. Thousands of trees will be planted to enhance greenbelt
areas and to provide phytoremediation of petroleum impacted soil and groundwater.
Former Mine and Mill, CO
EnviroGroup prepared a Voluntary Cleanup Plan (approved by the state) for a former mine
and mill site near Nederland, Colorado, that will minimize disturbance to historic
structures and mining features and uses institutional controls to minimize the extent of
capping.
Brass Refinery, CA
EnviroGroup helped oversee the cleanup of a former brass refinery in Los Angeles to allow
redevelopment of the site for commercial use. Cleanup included building demolition, soil
removal and recovery of fuel oil from the water table.
Industrial Complex, CO
EnviroGroup conducted an extensive evaluation of environmental conditions at a multi-block
industrial complex and identified issues that would potentially impact re-development
of the site. Recommendations were made to minimize cleanup costs by adapting development
plans to site conditions.
Wastewater Treatment Plant, CO
EnviroGroup designed and provided construction QA/QC for cleanup of soils at a former
wastewater treatment plant. Cleanup plans were adapted to redevelopment of the site as a
park to and minimize soil removal requirements. |
