Groundwater Investigations and Remediation
EnviroGroup hydrogeologists and engineers have decades of
experience investigating and remediating groundwater impacted by:
Solvents and DNAPLs
EnviroGroup Limited has extensive experience investigating and remediating solvent and
Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (DNAPL) contamination at sites across the country, including
source area cleanup, and containment and remediation of dissolved plumes.
Our engineers have successfully remediated DNAPL source zones, achieving drinking water
standards in less than two years using low cost technologies, and allowing site closure.
We have stopped plumes in their tracks at site boundaries, and are using innovative
technologies to mitigate off-site plumes.
See "Vapor Intrusion" to learn about our nation-leading
expertise in this new and rapidly developing area of regulatory focus.

Petroleum and LNAPLs
EnviroGroup Limited has found cost effective solutions to petroleum Light Non-Aqueous
Phase Liquid (LNAPL) contamination at major oil refineries, tank farms, manufacturing,
and underground storage tank sites.
Our Monitored Natural Attenuation (MNA) remedies have been approved in several states
across the country in other cases, rapid cleanup using extraction and other
remediation technologies have made the most sense, eliminating long term and potentially
costly monitoring.
EnviroGroup is currently working with the Wyoming DEQ and BP in a collaborative process
to investigate and cleanup a former oil refinery, including recovery of extensive
floating LNAPL, containment of benzene plumes, and implementation of sparging,
phytoremediation, in-situ bioremediation, and MNA remedies. See the following project
descriptions for more information.

Metals and Pesticides
EnviroGroup Limited has found cost-effective solutions for metals and pesticides in
groundwater at mine sites, smelters and metals processing plants, manufacturing facilities,
landfills, and agricultural facilities for over a decade.
We understand that metals are natural components of the earth and ensure that background
levels are well understood to avoid unnecessary cleanup. For example, by demonstrating that
elevated metals concentrations were due to particulates in poorly filtered samples, we
convinced EPA to remove a landowner from the PRP list at a multi-facility Superfund site.
We take advantage of natural processes to avoid unnecessary cleanup costs. At one site, we
showed that natural oxidation would prevent migration of arsenic below a tailings
impoundment. At another site, we demonstrated that natural attenuation and institutional
controls were adequate to manage a mile long cadmium and zinc plume, reducing costs by
over $20 million.
But when innovative technologies are necessary, our civil, environmental, and waste
treatment engineers effectively and efficiently implement remedies that meet project
objectives.
