| Delaware Vapor Intrusion Policy
|
|
In March 2007 the Delaware Department of Natural
Resources and Environmental Control issued a policy
concerning the investigation, risk determination, and
remediation for the vapor intrusion pathway. It involves
a twelve step process from screening to investigation
and remediation. Sites with risks exceeding 1 X 10 -5 or
HI of 1.0 must proceed to remediation. The policy can be

The Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council
Vapor Intrusion Team will be presenting the web- based
training course "Vapor Intrusion Pathway: A Practical
Guide" on May 8 from 2:00 PM to 4:15 PM Eastern Time.

The Air and Waste Management Association will hold
its third vapor intrusion conference " Vapor Intrusion -
Learning From the Challenges" on September 26-28 in

Roundtables |
|
As part of the Twelfth Annual Spring Roundtables on
Contaminated Sites the Environmental Law Section of the
State Bar of California will include a session on
Evaluating and Managing Vapor Intrusion Risks on June 9
in San Diego. David Folkes of EnviroGroup Limited will

| Wisconsin Vapor Intrusion Seminar
|
|
On May 10 a Vapor Intrusion Consultant's Day will be
held in Brookfield, WI by the Federation of
Environmental Technologists, Inc. and the Wisconsin DNR.

| External Peer Review of 1,1,1-TCA
Toxicology |

EPA and DOE have engaged the Oak Ridge Institute of
Science and Education to convene a panel of experts to
review the draft document: "Toxicological Review of
1,1,1-Trichloroethane: In Support of Summary Information
on the Integrated Risk Information System". There is
currently no quantitative information regarding the
toxicity of 1,1,1-TCA on IRIS. The review will be
conducted on April 20, 2007 in Arlington, VA. The peer

On February 7, 2007 IMA Environmental Practice and
AIG Environmental co-hosted a seminar "Vapor Intrusion:
The Next Great Environmental Challenge" in Denver, CO.

| EPA Soil Gas Sampling Workshop

On March 21 and 22, 2007 EPA held a soil gas sampling
and analytical methods workshop in conjunction with the
American Association for Environmental Health and
Sciences conference in San Diego, CA. Topics included
probe installation methods, sampling issues affecting
soil gas concentrations, field and fixed-based
analytical methods for volatile and semi-volatile
compounds, vadose zone permeability testing, and the use
of passive diffusion samplers and tedlar bags. The
