EPA IG Issues VI Report
|
|
On December 14, 2009 the EPA Office of the Inspector
General issued its final report, Lack of Final Guidance
on Vapor Intrusion Impedes Efforts to Address Indoor
Air Risks. The report recommends that EPA update,
finalize, and broaden the scope of its VI guidance as
well as provide final toxicity values for trichloroethylene
and perchloroethylene. The report can be found at:

Maine Issues VI Guidance
|
|
On January 14, 2010 the Maine Department of
Environmental Protection, Bureau of Remediation and
Waste Management, issued its vapor intrusion
guidance document. The document can be found at:

AEHS West Coast Conference
|
|
The Twentieth Annual Association for Environmental
Health and Sciences Meeting and West Coast
Conference on Soils, Sediments, and Water will be
held in San Diego, CA on March 15-18, 2010. EPA will
be chairing an all day vapor intrusion session on
March 16 where three new EPA technical documents
will be discussed. The vapor intrusion documents to
be covered are Background Indoor Air Concentrations,
EPA's Vapor Intrusion Database, and Conceptual
Model Scenarios. The EPA one day session can be
attended by itself for $210. There is also a petroleum
vapor intrusion workshop scheduled for the evening of
March 16 as well as other vapor intrusion platform
sessions on March 15. The preliminary program can

ITRC Classroom VI Training
|
|
The Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council will
be offering its two day course, Vapor Intrusion
Pathway: A Practical Guideline, in Norfolk, Virginia on
March 22-23, 2010. Information on the course is found

API Releases Bio Vapor Software
|
|
The American Petroleum Institute has placed its Bio
Vapor Indoor Vapor Intrusion Model on its website and
made it available for free download. The model is
applicable to releases of petroleum hydrocarbons to
the subsurface and accounts for oxygen-limited
aerobic biodegradation. The model can be used
either to predict indoor air concentrations or to back
calculate source concentrations. The model may be

ASTSWMO Petroleum Vapor Intrusion Status Report
|
|
The Association of State and Territorial Solid Waste
Management Officials issued a six page status report
on petroleum vapor intrusion in January 2010. The
report can be found at:

|
|
Dr. Atul Salhotra of Gannett Fleming, Inc. is presenting
a one day course, Science, Regulation, and Case
Studies on Indoor Vapor Intrusion Pathways, on
February 16, 2010 in East Lansing, MI. The

AWMA Vapor Intrusion 2010 Conference
|
|
The Air and Waste Management Association will be
holding a Vapor Intrusion 2010 conference in
Chicago, IL on September 29-30, 2010. The deadline
for abstract submittal is February 22, 2010.
