| NRC Review of TCE |
|
The National Research Council of the National Academy
of Science has completed its review of the toxicity of
trichloroethylene. The report states that “The committee
found that the evidence on carcinogenic risk and other
health hazards from exposure to trichloroethylene has
strengthened since 2001". The Council thus urged federal
agencies to finalize their risk assessment procedures so
that risk management decisions can be made
expeditiously. The 472 page document can be browsed or

| New Hampshire Finalizes Its Vapor
Intrusion Guidance |
|
In July 2006 the New Hampshire Department of
Environmental Services finalized its Vapor Intrusion
Guidance. The document includes screening levels and can
be found at:

| Indiana Draft Vapor Intrusion Pilot
Program |
|
The Indiana Office of Land Quality of the Department
of Environmental Management has published a draft Vapor
Intrusion Pilot Program document. The pilot program is
intended to be an interim approach to the evaluation of
vapor intrusion and is not required guidance. The
document can be found at:

| California Has Updated its
Schoolscreen Guidance |
|
On July 12, 2006 the California Office of
Environmental Health Hazard Assessment updated the
spreadsheet included in its Guidance for Assessing
Exposures and Health Risks at Existing and Proposed
School Sites to correct errors in the previous edition.
Vapor intrusion is one of the pathways included. The

The Air and Waste Management Association will be
holding a two hour live introductory “Vapor Intrusion
Seminar For Everyone” via the internet on October 18.
The seminar will consist of a basic overview of the
subject presented by a panel. More information can be

The American Petroleum Institute has a vapor
intrusion website where the API vapor intrusion related

| AWMA Call For Papers |
|
The Air and Waste Management Association has issued a
call for vapor intrusion related papers for its Annual
Conference and Exhibition to be held in Pittsburgh, PA
on June 26-29, 2007. The abstracts are due by September
