Site Assessment Projects
Ceramics Manufacturer
A multi-national ceramics manufacturer was seeking to acquire a company with facilities
throughout North America. Rapid due diligence assessments were required to meet
contract deadlines. One EnviroGroup due diligence team conducted six initial visits in
three countries in two days. Other site visits and follow-up work were conducted over a
period of two weeks.
Lithographic Chemicals
Several manufacturers of chemicals for the lithographic printing industry were purchased
and formed into a single company over a period of two years. Due diligence audits were
performed for each facility by EnviroGroup prior to acquisition, comprising an environmental
baseline for the new company.
Industrial Minerals
EnviroGroup conducted due diligence audits at multiple facilities for a multi-national
conglomerate that was interested in vertical integration of its business by adding
industrial minerals capabilities. Challenges included a seller that had little knowledge
of its own facilities because of its own recent acquisition of the facilities.
Pigments
A major producer of inorganic pigments desired to expand its capacity and gain entry into
the organics pigments market. Due diligence audits at two facilities in Canada were
required and completed in one week to meet transaction deadlines.
Manufacturing Complex
A Phase 1 environmental site assessment was required at a manufacturing complex covering
several blocks in an urban center, to allow the client to evaluate the potential for
Brownfields development of the facility. The Phase 1 assessment evaluated historic
operations, demolished facilities, and existing buildings to define potential environmental
conditions. Recommendations were provided to limit environmental liabilities during
redevelopment of the property.
Coatings and Chemicals
A multi-national producer of electronic chemicals, solders, and other products for the
electronics industry was seeking to acquire two subsidiaries to enhance their position
in chemicals and enter the micro-coating market. EnviroGroup conducted due diligence
audits of acquisition targets ranging from chemical plants to coatings equipment
manufacturers.
ECRA/ISRA Assessment
EnviroGroup personnel are involved in an ongoing ECRA/ISRA assessment and cleanup of a
manufacturing facility in New Jersey. The environmental assessment included review of
soil and groundwater data provided by others, recommendation of future sampling schedules,
and developing relationships between facility processes and observed contamination.
