Columbia Analytical Services, Inc. Columbia Analytical Services, Inc. (CAS) Air Quality Laboratory has the analytical experience and project management skills to expertly assist clients with soil vapor intrusion and indoor air investigations.
Founded in 1988 as Performance Analytical Incorporated (PAI), the lab has since performed tens of thousands of analyses from our southern California location near Los Angeles, and we successfully serve clients in all 50 states and around the globe.
For VOC analyses, we analyze samples in accordance with EPA Methods TO-14A and EPA TO-15, as recommended by the current federal and state guidance documents. As a laboratory that specializes in air samples, we understand the importance of calibrating our instruments for these analyses using vapor-phase standards.
We hold numerous state accreditations for air methods, as well as certifications by nationally recognized organizations and programs such as the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) and the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP).
Our laboratory provides clients with an analytical approach and reporting limits that are appropriate for both soil vapor and indoor air projects. For indoor air investigations, our highly trained analysts perform EPA TO-15 in Selective Ion Monitoring (SIM) mode to provide results in part per trillion levels for project-specific compound lists, addressing the lowest detection limits required for indoor air studies and risk assessment.
With an inventory of more than 1000 Summa canisters, we can quickly provide clients with the sampling media, even on short notice. For soil gas surveys and investigations, we offer cost-effective batch certified Summa canisters, which can be fitted with critical orifices for time-integrated sampling. To address the special requirements for indoor air projects, we offer individually certified canisters with precisely calibrated flow controllers to reach ultra low levels down to parts per trillion.
CAS Air Quality Laboratory provides the data that clients need in the manner they request—from summary reports to full validation packages that will stand up to stringent regulatory QC scrutiny.
